Optional academic research
AptiTrove research participation
This notice explains the optional interaction data used to study how learners work through aptitude questions. Participation is voluntary and is separate from using AptiTrove.
Why this research is being considered
The aim is to understand learning behaviour during aptitude practice and improve question design, feedback, pacing and learner support. Research findings may be reported only after the required institutional ethics review and approvals are in place.
What optional interaction data means
If you agree, AptiTrove may record time spent on a question, answer changes, option hover patterns, scratchpad use, and whether the question window loses focus. These signals are collected alongside the learning records already needed to run the platform, such as your submitted answer, correctness, response time, XP and progress.
What is not collected for this research
This feature does not activate your camera or microphone, record your screen, read content from other applications, or add advertising trackers. AptiTrove does not sell these data.
Privacy and reporting
Research records use a separate participant code during analysis. Direct identifiers should be removed from analysis datasets, access should be limited to the authorised research team, and results should be presented in aggregate so that individual learners are not identified.
Your choice
You must be 18 or older to opt in. You may decline and still use every normal AptiTrove feature. Your choice will not affect marks, academic evaluation, access to faculty, or institutional resources. You can change your choice below; switching participation off stops future optional research telemetry and does not delete normal learning records.
Questions or concerns
Raise any question, correction, withdrawal request or privacy concern with the AptiTrove administrator through your institution. The responsible researcher and ethics-contact details should also be supplied with any formal participant information sheet used for an approved study.
